Fall 2011 Workplace Campaigns

The Baby Corner was present again this year at the charity fairs for both the King County Employee Giving Program and the Combined Fund Drive at the UW. Thank you to all the public sector employees who stopped by to talk to us. If you are either a King County or a state employee, please consider making a contribution through payroll. Generally the campaigns run through mid-November. For more information, please visit employee giving web pages: Combined Fund Drive (state) or  Employee Giving Program (county). We are also listed with the Port of Seattle campaign.

Payroll contributions are especially effective, since they provide a steady, predictable income for the Baby Corner. And contributions needn't be large to support our mission. See our Donate page for examples of what $10 per month will buy.

Breakfast for Babies 2011

This year's breakfast, held on May 3, brought in more than $25,000. Many thanks to all who attended or otherwise supported this important annual fundraiser!

Helping Orphaned Children in Japan

On March 24, 2011, Assistant Director Liz Holz delivered several bags of baby and toddler items—about $600 worth—to the Eastlake office of 97.3 KIRO FM.  The Baby Corner's donation was added to other donations for talk show hosts Ron and Don's Operation Airlift Japan, a campaign to aid a small orphanage housing 63 children in northern Japan. The campaign, which eventually involved 436 orphaned children, collected 301 pallets of goods. See the Spring 2011 newsletter (below) for more on this story.
