Volunteer
The Baby Corner welcomes volunteers!
We have volunteer opportunities for a variety of schedules and needs—for individuals and for groups (such as youth groups or Scouts), either at the Baby Corner or off-site. Below are the kinds of things our volunteers do:
- Sort donations on-site during regular hours (9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon, Monday–Friday), or once or twice a month on a weekend; may also be done at home by prior arrangement (must pick up from Baby Corner and return)
- Help uncrate and stack shipments of car seats and other items
- Launder infant/toddler clothes (must pick up from Baby Corner and return, folded and sorted)
- Help with mailings (about five times a year)
- Help unpack, sort, shelve, and distribute the hundreds of items that arrive daily at the Baby Corner in mid-December
- Help clean our facility periodically
Help Needed!
Donors have been very generous with their used baby items. Now we need help sorting and shelving donations. Even an hour or two would help! Please call or e-mail us; and thank you!
We love having groups of young people volunteer at the Baby Corner, but
advance planning is necessary to make sure that we make the best use of
their time (and our small space!). If you are a parent, teacher, or
group leader with young people who would like to work at the Baby
Corner, please e-mail us, and we’ll have our Volunteer Coordinator
contact you to make arrangements. You may also download our volunteer flyer.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
We are always grateful for offers of professional expertise, especially in the areas of grantwriting and fundraising. The Baby Corner is also actively seeking people who enjoy the camaraderie and shared mission that comes with serving on the Board of Directors; board members serve staggered terms of 1–3 years and generally meet every other month. If you would like to offer your expertise to the Baby Corner or learn more about our board, please call our office during regular business hours, or e-mail us.
Thank you for your interest!
